Rimmel's Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation Review

Rimmel's "Stay Matte" foundation comes in eight shades:
  • Light Porcelain
  • Light Ivory
  • Ivory
  • True Ivory
  • Soft Beige
  • Classic Beige
  • True Beige
  • Sand
Rimmel is available at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target, CVS Pharmacy, Kmart, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Meijer, and other retailers nationwide.

You can find it anywhere from $5-$7.

When this foundation came out it wasn't a foundation I was DYING to try.  I didn't realize until using it that this isn't just a liquid foundation but a mousse/liquid formulation.

I like liquid foundations and I like mousse foundation but have yet to really LOVE any of the two.
I would compare this to a combination of "L'Orels True Match" liquid foundation and Revlon's Whipped Colorstay foundation, BUT it's cheaper than both of them.

It has a very full coverage like the whipped foundation with out being drying like the liquid foundation.

If you follow me on instagram @_sydxoxo you know that I received this foundation for free in a Voxbox that was sent to me this week. I've now worn it three days straight and have fallen IN LOVE with it.

At home at this very moment I probably have about 30-50 different foundations that I try and use on a daily basis but I have NEVER in my 19 years of life, fallen in love with a foundation like this one.

It is a full coverage foundation without making you look cakey and dry.  It's also a matte foundation, so it's perfect if you have oily skin.   I have normal to dry skin and it gives me just enough hydration but still remains matte all day without using a setting powder.  I recommend you prime your face and set it with a translucent powder to help your foundation stay flawless all day but honestly, today I wore it while shopping all day without priming or setting it and never had to touch up.

I used a regular foundation brush to apply it but i'm sure a beauty blender will work just the same. I'm in the color true beige right now but will probably purchase "classic beige" after summer.   It covers all my blemishes and discoloration perfectly without a concealer and makes my skin look perfect.  It doesn't move around or smear even in the hottest temperatures.

To wrap it up, I love this foundation and I will definitely purchase another tube when this one runs out.  I suggest if you haven't found a foundation you're in love with, i'd definitely try this one.

Olay Professional Pro X Advanced Cleansing System Review

I've been dying to get my hands on the Olay Pro X Cleansing System, not for the face wash, but for the vibrating/rotating battery powered brush.  I've heard tons of youtubers claim this brush was a close second to the Clarisonic face brush which can run around $200.  This Olay brush, along with a small face wash, is about $30 at most places.  I don't know about you but 30 bucks sounds a lot better than 200 bucks.

This last weekend I found a $5 off coupon towards any Olay Pro X item so I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it after months of debating.  I found mine at Wal-Mart for $29.99 but I've heard you can order it from amazon for around $20 and free shipping if you're an amazon prime member. It's also on SALE at Ulta right now for $25.99 ( I wish I knew this earlier today)

These are the details the website offers about the Olay Pro X brush:

Is it time to rethink your daily cleansing routine? Designed by a team of dermatologists along with Olay, the Advanced Cleansing System is as effective as a system sold by skin professionals for nearly $200. Professionally and clinically designed to cleanse 6 times better, the Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System also sets your skin up for supersonic anti-aging moisturization.

4 professionally designed features:

  • 2 speed, rotating system delivers daily deep cleansing and gentle exfoliation
  • Water-resistant for use in the shower
  • Soft replaceable brush head gentle on the skin
  • Exfoliating cleanser professionally designed to purify and renew skin's texture for refreshed, smooth skin

    System includes:
    2-speed facial cleansing brush
  • Soft bristle replaceable brush head

  • Enough about the details, let's find out how I felt about it....

I read the directions thoroughly, which were just a few steps that were printed on the back of the box, no type of formal directions included.

They basically said to wet your face, wet the brush, and then use it.

I did so and also squirted some of the soap that was included into the bristles and worked it into my face with the brush on full speed for 60 seconds like the box said.

I now realize that I SHOULD'VE, but didn't, remove most of my face make-up first... SOOO due to my mistake, I had to rinse the brush off multiple times to rinse off the foundation that was coming off onto the brush.

Although I made that mistake, the results were fantastic.  The bristles were really soft but VERY exfoliating.  I can't compare this to the Clarisonic because I've never owned one, but this was a very efficient way to cleanse your face.  I felt as though all my make-up was definitely removed and my face felt very bare and clean.

After the wash I then used my regular astringent and hardly any make up was left behind.

Over all I think this is a GREAT investment if you're looking for a deeper clean in your skin care regiment.  I'd say spend the 30 bucks for this before you invest in the Clarisonic and see if this new addition in your night time routine is worth shelling out $200, at least, for one with more bells and whistles.

In  my opinion, if I continue to like the results I gain from this product at some point I may purchase the Clarisonic but for now, I am completely happy with my Olay Pro X brush.
